Geography as a subject not only widens one’s capacity for understanding of the natural world, but also aids them in learning about the humans that live in it. It generates intellectual curiosity and interest regarding social, economic and environmental factors within the constantly changing world, as well as providing a greater sense of appreciation for the Earth we all share. The children at Gravel Hill will be presented with opportunities to ask questions and explore, in turn helping them widen their knowledge of the interaction between the physical and human processes. They will continue to develop skills that aid them in grasping concepts and explaining how the interconnected world has been shaped over time and what its future will be like in regard to its ever changing nature. The fascination these children acquire will lead them into becoming more sustainable and cultivated adults.
