MFL - French
Intent
At Gravel Hill, all pupils in Key stage 2 are taught French. Our MFL curriculum is a progressive curriculum which constantly builds on what the children have previously learnt and is designed to develop children’s basic skills in speaking and listening, reading and writing, with the main focus being on practical communication, whilst meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum and laying the foundations for learning a language at KS3. In doing so we believe our languages curriculum opens pupils up to a variety of cultures and helps to foster pupils’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world.
