Intent
Through Design and Technology, children at Gravel Hill are encouraged to think creatively to solve and adapt to real life problems and scenarios. DT is a combination of skills and knowledge which allow children to take on and tackle these scenarios, both individually and as a team, supporting them in being successful through their learning journey in life.
We aim to link this to the wider curriculum where relevant, making strong links with Art, Maths and Science in particular. Children are given opportunities and expected to evaluate strategies, designs and products and its effectiveness, a skill that is then reiterated and embedded throughout the broader curriculum.
