Equality Statement

As part of Cygnus Academy Trust, Gravel Hill Primary School are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers irrespective of race, gender, disability, belief, sexual orientation, age or socio-economic background. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and ability to participate fully in school life.

We tackle discrimination through the positive promotion of equality, by challenging bullying and stereotypes and by creating an environment which champions respect for all.

At Gravel Hill, we believe that diversity is a strength which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach and visit us.

SEND Report 2025

Enhanced SEN Provision

At Cygnus, we realise the ambition of every child within our schools, and we strive to ensure that we provide an inclusive curriculum for all.
Most of our pupils can access the learning with their peers in the mainstream classroom, all day every day, where teachers ensure their teaching is adapted to meet the needs of all learners (see our Trust Principles of Inclusion – https://www.cygnus.org.uk/Our-SEND-Commitment/ ).  Sometimes, however, some children need to learn in a different way, or at a different pace, to their peers.  For these children, Enhanced SEN Provisions have been set up in our schools to ensure the children’s needs are met in a smaller, less busy environment where they follow a carefully planned bespoke curriculum which addresses their main area/s of need.

Children at Gravel Hill Primary School may access one of our two Enhanced SEN Provisions (Monty’s Room and Meerkats Room). Further information of the rationale for these Enhanced SEN Provisions and how they run can be found in the document below:
