Volunteering

At Gravel Hill, we deeply appreciate the valuable contributions volunteers make to our school. Their diverse skills and experiences enrich our learning environment and support the development of our pupils.

We are committed to involving volunteers in ways that align with our school’s strategic aims, vision, and development plan. Volunteers play a key role in supporting the school’s daily activities and in gaining experience within an educational setting.

Volunteer Activities May Include:

  • Listening to children read
  • Supporting small group work
  • Assisting individual pupils within the classroom
  • Accompanying school trips

Becoming a Volunteer

We welcome applications from individuals interested in volunteering. However, due to capacity limits, we are only able to accommodate a limited number of volunteers at any one time.

If you would like to volunteer, please complete the form below and return it to admin@gravelhillprimaryschool.co.uk. Please note that we are unable to accept placements shorter than one full term (12 weeks), as this is the minimum time required to complete a DBS check through our trust.

Please note: We do not offer work experience placements.

Gravel Hill Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If a placement is available, we will contact you to arrange an interview. Depending on the role, an enhanced DBS check may be required. All volunteers are expected to follow our Volunteer Policy.
