Volunteering
We believe that volunteers provide a valuable contribution to our schools’ work, and that they enrich the school through the breadth of their knowledge and experience.
We are committed to using volunteers in a way that supports the school’s strategic aims and vision, as well as its development plan.
At Gravel Hill we welcome volunteers to support the work of the school and to support those wishing to gain experience in a school setting.
The types of activities that volunteers are engaged in include:
- Listening to children read
- Working with small groups of children
- Working alongside individual children within the classroom
- Accompanying school visits
Becoming a Volunteer
The school regularly receives offers of voluntary support and requests for voluntary placements which we welcome; however we are limited to the number of volunteers we can accommodate at one time.
Anyone wishing to become a volunteer should complete the form below and return to admin@gravelhillprimaryschool.co.uk
Gravel Hill Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment. If we are able to offer a voluntary placement, we will contact you to invite you in for an interview. An enhanced DBS check may be necessary according to the nature of the placement. We ask all volunteers to adhere to our Volunteer Policy.
